Frequently Asked Questions

For the cast iron burner grates:

For stubborn stains, the use of a regular oven cleaner is recommended.

We recommend mostly the brand SANY who has demonstrated superior efficiency to the regular oven cleaner. You can find this product at AG International or at a SANY branch. Visit for locations in Quebec.

Spray the product on the grates, leave it on for a while and scrub the grates with a scouring pad (Scotch Bright blue - S.O.S). Rinse thoroughly. Repeat as needed. Wipe dry the grates and put them back. Ignite the burners to evaporate the excess water that could have infiltrated in the cast iron. Once cooled, you can apply a thin layer of cooking oil to give an impeccable black shine.

Caution: Do not submerge and soak the surface grates.

For grease drip pan : (device series: RGU/RDU/RGT/RDT/CPU/CP)

For stubborn stains, you can spray the oven cleaner directly on the grease drip pan.

However, please avoid applying the product directly on the burner base because otherwise, it might discolor and tarnish. We recommend that you protect the base by placing a simple plastic container when applying the product.

Allow the product to react. Scrub with a non-abrasive scouring pad (Scotch Bright-blue). Rinse thoroughly. Repeat as needed.

For daily maintenance, you can use products such as CAMEO or PIERRE D’ARGENT which are for sale in all supermarkets. These products are less corrosive, have adequate efficiency and in some cases, have a pleasant lemon scent.

For grease drip pan: (device series: CTD/CDU/OR)

For daily maintenance, use hot soapy water and a non–abrasive scouring pad (Scotch Bright-blue). In the case of stubborn stains, you can use a stainless steel cleaner and make sure to sponge up the stains with a paper towel. Leave it on for a while and scrub the dip pan with a non–abrasive scouring pad.

For the electronic ignition system of the surface burners.

Use a small bristle brush (preferably steel) and alcohol to clean and dislodge dirt.

For the surface burners

Each sealed burner is removable and can be disassemble easily. Lift each part and clean the slimmer ring of each burner using a toothbrush and soapy water. Do not use corrosive cleaning products on the fixed part of the burner.

You can spray oven cleaning product on the burner CAP in the case of stubborn stains (black portion).

Make sure that the two locating pins situated on the bottom of the brass flames spreader are properly aligned with the locating pin holes situated on the top of the simmer ring. Incorrect alignment will produce potentially dangerous flames and a poor burner performance.

For higher performance: "GEL" soaps are not adequate to obtain a superior washing performance. Please use only the recommended powder detergent for dishwashers and put the required quantity in the SOAP dispenser.

For optimum performance: Dishwashing detergent tablets "FINISH QUANTUM" has demonstrated incomparable performance compared to any other type of SOAP.

You will find among the dishwasher accessories a detergent tablet tray to be inserted in the utensils basket. To be effective, the detergent tab must be unwrapped and put in this tray.

Important: Do not place the tablet at the bottom of the dishwasher but rather in the tray provided for this purpose.

There is a risk that the burner holes are blocked with dirt. Here is what you can do to rectify the situation:

  1. Lift and remove the 2 removable parts of the burner (Burner Cap and main burner port brass ring).
  2. Unscrew the Hex nut on the fixed part of the burner.
  3. Remove the perforated piece.
  4. Clean the holes with a paper clip.

IMPORTANT: Do not use detergent or soapy water.

  1. Rub vigorously the burner base with a bristle brush (preferably steel) to clean the accumulation of combustion soot.

IMPORTANT: Do not use detergent or soapy water.

  1. Clean also the electronic igniter with a bristle brush and alcohol. Reposition the burner and make sure to tighten the nut.
  2. Finally, make sure that the two locating pins on the bottom of the brass flame spreader are properly aligned with the locating pin holes on the top of the simmer ring. Incorrect alignment will produce a potentially dangerous flame and poor burner performance
